Introducing Carly Smithson

Carly Smithson, the girl with the tattoos and bold, strong vocals who auditioned in San Diego, is a strong contender on American Idol, season 7. Smithson is 24 years old, grew up in San Diego, CA and had a bit of vocal training and started her passion for singing when she was only three years old. She attributes her musical influences to pop radio stars Heart, Celine, Skynyrd, Ray Charles, Whitney, Rolling Stones, U2, Janis, Johnny Cash, and Annie Lennox.

Carly is an all Irish girl who wants to do Ireland proud by winning American Idol and says she can poor the perfect pint of beer. With such positive comments from the judges, unique personality and great potential, Carly has what it takes to make it far in the competition.
